Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We consider modeling bursty IP traffic by a BMAP. The underlying Markov process has a two-dimensional state space composed of the packet length and the arrival rate during a time interval. It can be shown that the constructed model with short- and long-term dynamics captures a characteristic of IP traffic by comparing the variety of arrival rates and the distribution of the number of packets in a queueing system.
