Real-time Video Communication using Priority of Macroblock

Abstract(in English) In a public network, such as the Internet, packet data is possibly lost when the network is congested. In real-time video communication using TV telephones or TV conferences, this lost packet cannot be resent from the transmitter due to the time restrictions. The error caused by the loss of packet data in a video frame is propagated to the adjacent video frames because the inter-frame compression is used to reduce the packet size. To decrease the effect on the packet loss, we propose a QoS method which prioritizes macroblock data with their motion vectors, and controls the transmission rate based on the priority.
