Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Authors are engaged in research and development of seamless communication technology which realizes smooth handoff between various communication media and devices. This paper explains efficient presence management methods we proposed : (a) expiration of presence utilizing terminal velocity, (b) a presence registration in cooperation with legacy AAA (Authentications, Authorization and Accounting) mechanisms and (c) a request conservation method. In order to apply presence information to device handoff, we also propose the methods, which provide the information of terminals utilizing presence and store user profile and session information in the network. And further, a power saving method of portable terminals is also discussed.
