Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A self-reproduction worm such as Slammer has high an infection speed, and its spread over high speed access network infrastructure causes wide expansion of worm damage, resulting in congestion in the Internet. It is difficult to detect and reject worm traffic with only packet information captured at IP router. There have been many studies for the prevention of worm traffic by traffic pattern collected with distributed firewall. In this study, we propose a method for illegal traffic detection and reduction based on signal separation in Blind Source Separation problem, in which the prior distribution of the event that an arriving packet belongs to warm traffic is evaluated with only the destination address of the packet. Numerical examples show that the proposed method efficiently detects illegal packets among a large number of IP packet streams. input traffic to the router is presented on the two degree vector space and evaluate the prior probability of observed packet with only the destination address of packet.
