Abstract(in English) | Self-similarity has forced the traditional teletraffic models to be remodeled, since the statistical properties of self-similar processes(e.g. the internet traffic) are significantly different from those of non self-similar ones(e.g. conventional voice traffic). Previous studies reported self-similarity in the cell dwell time of selected vehicles (a representative platform of mobile terminals) by overlapping a virtual cellular system on measured loci; and also in the channel occupancy time at each cell. In this study the authors measured pedestrian motion using an autonomous navigation system and derived the cell dwell time sequence. By applying the variance-time method and the R/S method, the cell dwell time sequence of pedestrians was found to exhibit self similarity. |
