Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Three ubiquitous firewall methods are proposed those are characterized with user specific policy loading between policy server and access equipments. The ubiquitous firewall is required to support various kinds of network access types and terminal equipments. The methods are (1) checking control packets, (2) mediating media access control address, and (3) taking advantage of home agent registration. Method (3) is the best way for mobile IP users, whereas Method (1) and (2) is best for both mobile IP and non-mobile IP users. The best method can be determined from target users and network architectures to apply.
