Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents a computer-aided diagnosis system using a pair of PET and CT images. The system consists of registration of the two images, segmentation of organs, detection of suspicious regions (SR's) and discrimination. In the registration process, rigid affine transformation and Free Form Deformation are used. Suspicious regions are detected as local peaks on PET image. Region growing method is applied to detect their boundary, in which several feature parameters are calculated. Discrimination of abnormal lesions is performed using those features. Finally, extracted SR's are marked on the image. This paper shows and considers the result which applied this system to the medical image.
