Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We are developing a computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) system based on 3-D multi-slice CT images. The recognizing the human anatomical structure is the important process for this CAD system. Due to the fact that the bone frame has the stable relations with the location of the different inner organs, the bone frame can provide the useful information of human anatomical structure and should be recognized structurally at first. In this research, we propose a method to recognize the structure of bone frame by classifying the bone frame into 5 parts. In this method, we generate a probabilistic atlas of thoracic bone structure and make a classification based on the atlas for each voxel in bone frame. We applied this method to 54 CT cases and verified the effects of this method based on a leave-out-method.
