Abstract(in English) In this paper, we describe a method for generating virtual laparoscopic views from 3D CT images as an aid for laparoscopic surgery. In the proposed method, we extract a boundary surface existing between abdominal organs and the abdominal wall from 3D CT images by utilizing a deformable contour model. We approximate the shape of the abdominal organs and the abdominal wall by a node-spring model. Elastic deformation is performed by applying pressure from the extracted boundary surface to both abdominal organs and abdominal wall. We applied this method to twelve cases of 3D CT images. The experimental results suggested the proposed method could extract boundary surface existing between the abdominal organs and the abdominal wall in 10 cases. Also, we confirmed that virtual laparoscopic views generated by elevating the extracted abdominal wall were very promising.
