Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We often use video data of simulcast type to provide video content of multi-quality over broadband network. However, its type is not superior from the viewpoint of the efficiency of transmission and data storage. On the other hand, scalability coding had selected as MPEG standards, but there is the problem that scalability bitstream can't be reconstructed by generic decoder. We had proposed updatable scalability considering generic decoder in simulcast type. Then, in this paper, we propose a video contents cache and delivery method using scalability architecture. By simulation experiments, it is indicated that scalability architecture is better than simulcast type in user access models, which is defined in this paper..
