Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In today's medicine, the DICOM data obtained by CT and MRI is rendered into 3D images which are widely utilized in hospitals. Since the medical 3D images are displayed on the conventional 2D displays, it leads to the difficulty in understanding 3D structures and the uncertain depth perception. These problems can be solved by using the next-generation 3D display which generates high-density directional images. In this study we develop the technique to transform the multiple slice image data in the DICOM format, which is the international standard data format for X-ray CT images, into the high-density directional images in order to construct a new medical 3D display system. We succeeded in displaying 3D images, which does not require wearing 3D glasses, which enables easy understanding of 3D structures, and which does not give visual fatigue.
