Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We developed an automatic narration generation technique for sports video summarization system. In a sports video digest, important scenes are often skipped and cause a difficulty in understanding the game. Our system generates a narration to make up the lacking information. Changes of the state in the digest are managed by transition models which are defined for each of the element of narration. Each model outputs an element of narration when an event occurs in the digest video and the elements are combined to create a whole narration. We constructed 6 transition models from a real soccer digest program and evaluated with a soccer digest video created by the video summarization system.
