Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Traffic simulator NETSTREAM (NETwork Simulator for TRaffic Efficiency And Mobility) has been developed to estimate the effects of traffic measures and Intelligent Transport Systems that reduce traffic congestion and environmental pollution. This simulator can calculate the action of each vehicle based on the traffic characteristic of each link, and can reproduce traffic conditions, such as generating of traffic congestion, extension, and dissolution, with sufficient accuracy. When applying the simulator to an actual network, it is the most serious subject to reproduce an actual traffic condition in the simulator. In order to solve this subject, we have developed the OD flow estimation method. At the last, we describe the subject in the case of applying a traffic simulation to evaluation of the active safety system, which is most promising ITS in the future.
