Development of optical fiber cable using LaserWave^[○!R] fiber

Abstract(in English) The multimode fiber (MM fiber) has been used in the optical communication system in the short distance of the premises optical LAN etc. However, an existing MM fiber is possible to support only up to 82m for 10Gbps, and the MM fiber that is able to transmit data more high-speed and longer distance has been necessary. Then, we have developed the optical cord and cable using LaserWave^[○!R] fiber that guarantees 10Gbps serial transmission by 600m or less (the longest in the world). The developed optical cord and cable maintained the excellent DMD (Differential Mode Delay) characteristic of LaserWave fiber and satisfied the other characteristics equal to one using an existing MM fiber.
