Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have analytically investigated the dynamic behavior of Michelson interferometer-type wavelength converter with multi-mode interference coupler (MIWC-MMIC), which was proposed as one of the key devices in future DWDM photonic switching network, by the newly-developed time-dependent transfer matrix method (TMM). An extinction ratio of the MIWC-MMIC is estimated to be 9.25dB, and that of the MZI-WC is 7.31dB. It is found that the inside conditions of semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) such as carrier density distribution and photon density distribution affect the eye-patterns of converted lights.
