Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We demonstrate 100GHz-spaced 32 channel arrayed waveguide gratings (AWGs) using a multiple quantum well (MQW) core. The AWG size was 4.8mm×2.2mm, and the cross talk was 20.4 dB. The MQW selective area metalorganic vapor phase epitaxy has been utilized to tailor many different in-plane bandgap profiles in a single epitaxial growth step for easy integration of AWGs and sctive deivces like SOAs. The AWG fabrication this time has been done on planar regions of such an SA-MOVPE-grown wafer.
