Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Poly-Silane is a polymer material whose refractive index is controlled by UV light radiation and thermal process. Using this feature, we propose a poly-silane 4 layer waveguide whose core layer has the index modulated long periodic grating. In this waveguide a core propagation mode couples with a clad propagation mode through the grating which causes wide-bandstop filtering operation. We analyzed the property of this optical filter by the mode coupling theory and confirmed the validity of this theory by FD-BPM. We designed the optical filter specifically using this theory.
