A Study of Transmission Distance Expansion Using Raman Amplification

Abstract(in English) The distribution Raman amplification (DRA) employed for optical fiber transmission has an improvement effect on optical SNR (OSNR) , and the transmission distance can be expanded compared to the case without it. In this paper, we report the result of a theoretical study as well as experimental verification of the expansion effectiveness in cases of non-relay transmission and relay transmission.
