Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have numerically analyzed the characteristics of tunable wavelength equalizer using the long period fiber grating (LPFG) that both higher and lower refractive index mediums are simultaneously loaded outside the cladding. Results of the calculation show that the resonant wavelength and its transmittance can be tuned by changing balance of loading ratio and refractive index difference. In this experiment, index matching oils as loading mediums were loaded outside the LPFG. Then, experimented results were compared with numerically analyzed results. Those results show that the resonant wavelength and its transmittance could simultaneously be controllable. In addition, the experimented results agreed with the analyzed results.
