Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The cladding of Photonic Crystal Fiber (PCF) is constituted of air holes arranged as periodically as the wavelength of light in silica glass. The cladding having a structure made up of silica glass and air holes enables characteristics that are quite different from those of conventional fiber. The characteristics that impossible to with conventional fiber become possible with photonic crystal fiber. We describe about large core photonic crystal fiber, high nonlinear photonic crystal fiber, polarization maintaining photonic crystal fiber and multimode photonic crystal fiber by way of example.
