Waveguide of amorphous fluoro-polymer for visible-light

Abstract(in English) We fabricated bent waveguides of perfluoro-alkenyl-vinyl-ether which have a low refractive index, and we designed the waveguides with a low relative index difference to satisfy a single mode condition and to make a numerical aperture low. We put a visible-light through them and evaluate their propagation characteristics. The propagation efficiency is achieved more than 50 percent for which a radial of bent region is 20mm. We analyze the near field patterns at the exit side of a waveguide and exhibit a source with a low numerical aperture. They are applied to a multi-beam source for a parallel information processing.
