Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes the noise characteristics of twisted pair cables. Four types of 50cm long cables were examined: (1) a cable without any shield (core); (2) a cable with a grounded Al ribbon shield (Alg); (3) a cable with a grounded Al and a floating Co-amorphous ribbon shields (AlgAml); (4) a cable with a grounded Al and a grounded Co-amorphous ribbon shields (AlgAmgl). The noise emission and induced voltage were decreased by a grounded Al and a grounded Co-amorphous ribbon shields. The transmission loss of Core was higher than that of AlgAml and AlgAmgl, which was almost equal to that of Alg. Consequently, AlgAmgl cable structure was confirmed to be the most promising candidate for the future digital communication and data processing systems.
