Abstract(in English) | The feasibility of the distributed Raman amplification(DRA) introduced into the field system has been examined. We study the impact of dynamic variations in transmission fiber loss profiles and multipath interference(MPI) such as connector reflection. In the case that loss position is at the output end of the fiber, 43% larger pumping power is needed than the case that loss position is at the input end of the fiber though the value of fiber loss variation is equal. We show the theoretical model of relative intensity noise(RIN) on DRA, which agrees with the experimental result. The increase of MPI caused by DRA restricts Raman gain to 20.4dB when there are reflection points those reflectivity is -20dB at both ends of the fiber. |
