Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Silole (silacyclopentadiene), silicon-substituted cyclic conjugate diene, has unique electronic structure exemplified by its low-lying LUMO due to σ*-π* conjugation in the ring. We have continued to develop new π-conjugated compounds containing silole as a new building unit. In particular, we have recently reported that some silole derivatives has quite high performance as an electron-transporting materials in organic clectroluminescent (EL) devices. In this paper, we report some recent advances in our silole chemistry.
