Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) OTV Network has been proposed as a future space transportation infrastructure. This system is, different from the current direct launch system, a network type transportation system based on orbital fuel stations and reusable OTVs. It has several features which are expected to lead to cost effectiveness and flexibility under future large and varied transportation demand, such as that almost all the elements of the system are reusable, that even small vehicles can carry out missions requiring large energy, and that payloads, fuel and upper stage vehicles can be launched separately. This paper describes OTV Network, discusses its features as a transportation infrastructure, compares it with current launch systems in terms of cost, and discusses technical issues for realizing the system.
