An Active Scheduler : Autonomous Concurrency Control of Parallel Programs in a Distributed Environment

Abstract(in English) In recent years, a collection of powerful workstations connected by a high speed network has become an increasingly important resource to satisfy large/scale computing needs. Based on such environment, in order to speed up the execution of parallel programs, users always hope to run programs on as many as machines. Therefore, a portion of researches focus on how to make the parallel program use the resource of distributed system efficiently.However, in multi-user environments, the execution of parallel programs may disturb other users.In this paper, we proposed an active scheduler that autonomously controls concurrency of parallel program to avoid disturbing other users. This scheduler takes the response of other users into account and makes the execution efficiently use resource of distributed system. In addition, we evaluated an implemented system that contains our proposed scheduler.
