Street Microcell Area Prediction System using Ray-tracing Method

Abstract(in English) In street microcell environment where base station antennas are installed at lower positions than buildings, ray-tracing method has been introduced as an good approach to predict the propagation loss with a relatively high level of accuracy. In this method, the field strength at the receiver can be easily obtained by determining the geometrical paths of rays through reflections and diffractions from transmitter to receiver. However in the ray-tracing process, many data about building and road have to be referred, so it takes a lot of times for obtaining high prediction accuracy. Therefore the problem has to be solved when this method is applied to area prediction systems. In this paper, a Street Microcell Area Prediction system using ray-tracing method, which implements higher speed in the process, is proposed and its system configuration and major performance are described.
