| 抄録(和) | 今日,標準化によりコストダウンのはかられたIEEE 802.11無線LANシステムによってパソコンどうしがお互いに通信しあうケースが多くなってきた.本学では,約150のIEEE 802.11に基づくアクセス・ポイント(NCR WavePOINT-II)が既にインストールされており,IEEE 802.11bに基づいたPCカード(NCR WaveLAN IEEE Turbo)を用いたノートパソコンが学内で一般的に使用されている.一方,同じ2.4GH_z帯の電波(ISMバンド)を使用する"Bluetooth"(IEEE 802.15)が最近になって標準化された.現在の無線LANシステムが,将来,Bluetooth製品と同時に使用されるようになると,一方のシステムが他に干渉する可能性が出てくる.この論文では,まず(1)既設無線LANシステム(WaveLAN)の基本性能に関して,アクセス端末数やアクセスポイント端末間距離による通信特性についての評価を行う.次に,(2)Bluetoothではないが同じスペクトラム拡散方式であるFHSS(Frequrncy Hopping Spread Spectrum)方式によるProxim社のRangeLAN2を用いてWaveLANとの近距離における共存時の通信性能を測定し,性能低下の原因を探るとともに通信性能を向上するための改善策について検討する. |
| 抄録(英) | Today, personal computers are often communicating with each other by means of the standard IEEE 802.11 wireless LAN systems. In Konan University, about 150 IEEE 802.11 based access points (NCR WavePOINT-II) have already been installed and portable personal computers each with an IEEE 802.11b based PC-card (NCR WaveLAN IEEE Turbo) are used commonly. However, "Bluetooth" (IEEE 802.15) that uses the same 2.4GHz radio wave (ISM) band is recently emerging as a standard.Since the persent wireless-LAN systems will be used simultaneously with Bluetooth products in the future, one system may interfere with others. In this paper, first, we evaluate characteristics of WaveLAN. Next, we evaluate characteristics of both WaveLAN and Proxim RangeLAN2 systems that are operating at short range. This means the basic service areas overlap with each other. RangeLAN2 is different from Bluetooth,but it uses similar modulation mothod (FHSS). Significant performance degradation is observed when operating both wireless LAN systems simultaneously. |
