Abstract(in English) The preprocessing scheme using wave polarization is one of the effective techniques for resolution enhancement of superresolution techniques. In this report, we consider the validity of polarization averaging(PA)preprocessing scheme applied with the modified spatial smoothing preprocessing(MSSP)in the 2-D MUSIC estimation. The PA scheme enhances the decorrelation efficiency, which is mandatory for powerful coherent signal detection. We consider the decorrelation performance of the scheme in the 2-D problem theoretically, and also provide the experimental results to show the validity of the scheme.
