Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For broadband mobile communications, an indispensable effort should be to cope with severe Intersymbol Interference (ISI). We have proposed an iterative ISI equalization algorithm, Soft Canceller followed by MMSE filter (SC/MMSE) with a matched filter approximation, that offers low computational complexity without causing any serious performance degradation from that of the optimal receiver. In this paper, it is shown that the proposed SC/MMSE algorithm can further reduce computational complexity by adaptively selecting path components depending on their strengths. Computer simulation results show that the proposed SC/MMSE algorithm does not cause any serious performance degradation by neglecting the paths components having relatively low strengths.
