Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) VICS (Vehicle Information and Communication System), which detects vehicles on the road with optical beacons for traffic control and supply real-time traffic information, is starting to be practicable. But it needs an enormous budget because the optical beacons must be placed on each lane throughout the country. Therefore immediate country wide use is assumed to be difficult. So, this paper will propose a system using traffic signals that already exist, and focus on its visible rays and power used for traffic control, the number and location of the signals, and the movement towards LED-based traffic signals. In this paper, we build a service area that do not interfere with other traffic signals after analysis of composing parameters and analyze its performance.
