| Abstract(in English) | This paper describes the history of research and development of vision substitution and aids for the visually handicapped, psychological knowledge on blinds' representation and recognition of image and environment, engineering points to be considered in helping the blind to acquire spatial awareness along with the role of computer vision, and the researches on vision substitution and aids by our laboratory. |
