Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) When a user finds an informative Web page on the WWW, there are many cases where he makes use of a printed material. Such an act is called Active Reading (AR). If a user prints a Web page and makes use of it, the advantage of electronic document and hypertext will be lost. This thesis describes an AR framework for Web pages on the Internet without losing the advantage of hypertext document on the net. A user with AR facility in accessing Web pages performs AR on Web pages actively. Web pages used as the object of AR are stored in a local computer. The author investigates reusing them, the functions for performing AR and the version management to keep up with the update of their contents on the WWW.
