Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Authors are implementing a learning system of a sign language using pedagogy based on characteristics of sign language words. Analysis of the characteristics for the pedagogy shows that word recognition can be done by giving a few postures (semantic key points) for each word. Then, we can reconstruct a motion picture by using them. In this paper, experiments to minimize video frames based on the semantic key points is presented, and then as a practical view point, a heuristic method to obtain semi-semantic key points is proposed with the same experiments. Moreover, results of applying the method to TV sign language news are shown.
