Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have attempted to modulate a function of immunocytes by ELF elctrostimulation applied outside the body. In this study, the effect of capacitively coupled electrostimulation on endocytosis of macrophages was studied in vitro. The relationship between the effect and the intracellular calcium ion concentration was investigated, as well. When electrostimulation(50Hz, 35 μ A/cm^2) was applied, the amount of endocytosis decreased. This suggested the suppression of imniunocyte's functions. The intracellular calcium ion concentration demonstrated the tendency to increase afier the electrostimulation. However, statistical significance was not observed, yet.
