Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to fabricate nano-gap electrodes for measuring electrical properties of a single organic molecule, we proposed a new technique to fabricate the nano-gap electrodes using focused ion beam and made nano-gap electrodes. As a result, we have succeeded making a Au/Pt gap electrode whose width was 8 nm on SiO2 electrical insulating film. By measuring the electrical properties of nano-gap electrodes, it was found that the electrode shows high resisitance.
