Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Main chains of polysilylenes with chiroptical side chains have helicity imbalanced to right-or left-handed. In this work, molecular-weight dependence of circular dichroism for these polysilylenes in solution were made with the quantities reflecting the shape of the molecule in order to consider what is importance to decide their conformations. We found that helical structures of these polysilylenes are described in terms of the mechanical statistical theory from analyzes of experimental results. Furthermore, we found from comparison with the global conformation that the flexibility of helix is more important for the global conformation than helix breaks in a molecule.
