Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We demonstrated distributed feedback(DFB) organic dye lasers with gratings fabricated on SiO_2 substrates, and we confirmed laser actions of the device. Active layer is a coevaporated layer which consists of tetraphen ylbendidine as a host, and 4, 4'-bis[4-(di-p-tolylamino)styryl]biphenly(LD1)as a guest. LD1 is a high gain laser dye in solid-state that we recently found out. The laser oscillated at 504nm, the line width was 0.8nm, and the lasing threshold was 0.8 kW/cm^2. However, we couldn't observe that two modes characterized by DFB lasers with single homo geneous grating. This appearance of the two DFB modes was explained by a low coupling coefficient of the grating of the laser, because the second order diffraction condition was used.
