Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have developed highly sensitive on-line biosensors for L-glutamic acid using a micro-machining technique. The sensors responded quickly and maintained a high sensitivity even if the sampling volume flow rate was slow, because the effective inner volume size of the sensors was reduced. These sensors were able to monitor L-glutamic acid released from the cultured cerebral cortex cells of rats by external stimulation. Flow cells fabricated by the same technique were used in an electrochemiluminescence experiment to investigate the potential of μ-TAS as a light source. The wavelength of the light emitted from a two component dye solution could be tuned by controlling the applied potential.
