Abstract(in English) The enhancement of the short-circuit photocurrent (I_) utilizing surface plasmon polariton (SPP) excitation was investigated for the merocyanine (MC) LB film photoelectric device. The large I_s were observed around the SPP excitation angles of the incident light in the attenuated total reflection configuration. Calculations for the electric fields and the absorptions of the incident light in the cell indicated that the excitation of the SPP on the electrode metals induced the enhancement of the light absorption in the MC LB film. The large I_s were considered to be due to the strong light absorption.
