Luminescence Dynamics of Polymer LB Films at the Air/Solid or Liquid/Solid Inferface

Abstract(in English) The luminescent properties of polymer Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films were investigated. Pyrene and ruthenium complexes were utilized as a luminescent probe. Pyrene moieties showed different lumunescent properties at an air/solid interface of polymer LB films, i.e, poly (N-dodecylacrylamide) (pDDA) and poly (tert-pentyl acrylamide) (ptPA), which are copolymerized with 1-pyrenylmenthyl acrylate (pyMA). Ruthenium complexes were incorporated in polymer LB films by using polyion complex method. The polymer LB films were deposited on a polymer waveguide layer. The ruthenium complexes at the interface of the LB films could be excited by guide optical waves. The possibility of the waveguide as a luminescent pH sensor was discussed.
