Pattern formation and chiral phase separation of monolayers at the air-water

Abstract(in English) The monolayer of racemic amphiphiles is studied as a film of cholesteric liquid cyristal mixed by the left- and right-handed chiral enantiomers. The chiral phase separation and molecular orientation pattern are analyzed. It was found that a stripe pattern appears by decreasing molecule area due to the chiral phase separation.
