Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Measurement by quartz crystal microbalance method and observations by atomic force microscopy(AFM) showed that the molecular area of C_<20> molecules in the LB films can be controlled from 22 to 32Å^2 by increasing the number of C_<60> molecules as spacer molecules. The adsorption characteristics of gas molecules, namely phytoncid(e.g.α-pinene), to these mixed LB films, composed of C_<20> and C_<60> were studied using quartz crystal microbalance method. Gas molecules with different sizes or structures were distinguished by the frequency shift, the adsorption / desorption characteristics. We consider that this was caused by the increase of the surface area of hydrophobic group exposed to the gas molecules as the result of introducing the spacer molecules into the LB films.
