Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Thin films of merocyanine dyes, introduced an alkyl group with various lengths at the position of nitrogen of benzothiazol ring, were prepared by vacuum evaporation. The aggregation process of the films was discussed based on the evaporation conditions. The crystallinity of the films was depended on the kind of substrates, substrate temperatures and deposition rates. Merocyanine dyes deposited on the glass substrate formed homogeneous and continuous films. When the film was contacted with basic vapor, J-or H-aggregates were formed depending on the alkyl chain length. Amorphous films had high potential for the formation of aggregates.
