Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Conventional study on polysilanes dealt with each molecule separately and little is known on the interaction between different molecules. In order to investigate the intermolecular energy-transfer process in detail, time-resolved photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy was carried out against the polydihexylsilane (PDHS) and polydiphenylsilane (PDPS) in powder form. Both the intensity and lifetime of PDHS-emission decreased, while those of PDPS-emission increased in the mixed samples. Their mixing-ratio dependence revealed that the resonant energy-transfer process played an important role in light emission characteristics, opening a new field of functional applications.
