Abstract(in English) This paper describes the molecular structure and phase transition of poly(di-octyl silane). The X-ray diffraction pattern has been measured, and its temperature dependence was compared with that of the optical absorption spectrum. As a result, it is found that the phase transition occurs below room temperature. In the low temperature phase, the backbone conformation is all-trans, whereas it is helix or hexagonal-like in the high temperature phase.
