Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Polyhexylphenysilane was prepared by Wurtz reaction, and it was treated with chloromethylmethyl ether in the presence of tin tetrachloride to give a chloromethylated polysilane derivative. It was noted that the chloromethyl substituents were introduced in the p-position to silicon. The chloromethylated polysilane was treated with optically active N, N-dimethyl-α-methylbenzylamine to yield a polysilane bearing optically active substituents. Circular dichromic spectrum of the polymer in ethanol showed that the polysilane has screw-sense conformation.
