Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes the molecular structure and packing of poly(methyl ethyl silane). The structural model has been deduced from the X-ray diffraction and optical absorption measurements. The theoretical X-ray diffraction pattern was also calculated, and it was compared with the experimental diffraction pattern. It is found that the backbone conformation of poly(methyl ethyl silane) is all-trans, which is the same as that of poly(di-methyl silane) and poly(di-ethyl silane). Poly(methyl ethyl silane) thin film has also been fabricated by the vacuum evaporation technique.
