Abstract(in English) | We have developed deuterated polysiloxane with high transparency and high thermal stability.This paper reports on the use of this polysiloxane to fabricate single-mode polymeric optical waveguides. Embedded waveguides were fabricated by conventional spin-coating, photolithography and reactive ion etching.Single-mode operation was achieved for wavelengths of 1.31 μm and 1.55 μm.The propagati on losses of the waveguides were measured by the cut-back method. The losses at 1.31 μm and 1.55 μm were less than 0.1 dB, cm and l ess than 0.5 dB/cm,respectively.The propagation losses at 1.31 μm and 1.55 μm remained unchanged after heating them at 120℃ for 10 hours. |
