Abstract(in English) The structure of polydimethylsilane and polydihexylsilane crystals has been determined by use of X-ray diffraction measurements and a theoretical diffraction pattern.The former crystal structure is monoclinic(a = 0.745 nm,b = 0.724 nm,c = 0. 389 nm,and γ= 67.1°),in which the primitive translation vector ¢ corresponds to the period of a one-dimensional silicon backbone having an all-trans conformation.The latter has a unit cell of a・ sinβ = 1.38 nm,b・ sinα = 2.39 nm,c = 0.40 nm£(100)⊥(010)!,in wh ich the angles are not determined because of the variety of the phase shift of the nearest neighbor chains.The orientation,optical and electrical properties of the thin films were also discussed on the basis of the obtained crystal structures.
